I’ve given you many cupcake and cake recipes over the last few months, and this is my first post to focus on frosting. This is a delicious, simple chocolate frosting that will go great with almost anything. I made mine with my dark chocolate cupcake recipe. For color, I used a little left over salted caramel frosting I had to create the pink flowers. The combination was delicious! This recipe is everything you want from a chocolate frosting, it’s creamy, rich and chocolatey heaven! Enjoy!

Peanut Butter S’mores Cupcakes
I made these cupcakes this week for my birthday… and OH MY GOSH are they delicious! Seriously, they are so so good. The moist chocolate cake, the fluffy marshmallow frosting, the buttery graham cracker bottom AND peanut butter in the center just sends this into a whole different stratosphere. I officially love this cupcake! And I hope you will, too! This is my classic chocolate cake recipe, sorry if you are getting sick of seeing it but it’s too perfect to change. If you like this one, try my S’mores Cake!
Dark Chocolate Orange Cupcakes
Dark chocolate really goes with everything, but Dark Chocolate and Orange is one of my favorite flavor combinations! This cupcake is so delicious and the perfect reason to cheat on your New Year’s diet ;)! These are inspired by my love for the chocolate oranges I use to get as a kid (you know the ones where you smack them on the table and it comes out with these perfect little chocolate orange slices?). These are so much better and you can even top them with the chocolate slices to make them even more incredible!

Dark Chocolate Nutella Cupcakes
Sparkling Cranberry White Cupcakes
If you are like me, your December is always completely crazy! We never have a free weekend between all of the holiday parties, family events and gatherings with friends. While it can be chaotic and stressful, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world! It’s the one time of year you get to see everyone you love and eat like a kid again! I’m always on the hunt for a delicious and pretty Christmas dessert. This is a perfect choice for any Christmas occasion!
Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Cupcakes
Okay, so I know I talk a lot about all the different desserts I love… but I have to say, these are by far the BEST dessert I have EVER made. The dark chocolate cupcake is super moist and filled with delicious salted caramel that just makes me want to drool. I am literally in love with this cupcake! If you don’t believe me, try it. I promise you won’t regret the decision.
I made these for a happy hour and people went nuts over them! I made them again for Halloween and I’m pretty sure I caught my husband eating 3 in one day (he refused to share the last one with me, too J). They are that good! I hope you enjoy them as much as I and my friends and family have, they are fabulous, decadent cupcakes!

Caramel Apple Spice Cupcakes with Salted Caramel Buttercream
To continue with our fair food theme for this week, there really is no better choice than a delicious Caramel Apple! The perfect treat at the State Fair or for Halloween… these Caramel Apple Cupcakes make a great alternative for those of us who love the fair (and a lot less messy)! Plus, I can never get enough Caramel, especially sea salt caramel. It’s ooey gooey goodness that I would drink if that was an acceptable diet! 🙂
I love the adventure of trying a new recipe. Not being sure how it will work out, whether everyone will like it and whether I’ll be happy with the final product… it’s a little bit of a thrill watching someone bite into your cupcake and seeing their face light up with delight! Of course, it’s a little nerve racking when you try something new. Sometimes the recipe isn’t perfect, the cupcake isn’t moist or the flavor is just not quite right. Regardless, I love the challenge and this cupcake was no exception. I was a little nervous chopping up apples into a cupcake, wondering if the texture would be odd, but they really do taste incredible! All this to say, I try to be adventurous with my recipes and I can promise everything you see on my blog will be tried and true (and absolutely delicious)!
After trying this recipe, if you are as big of a fan of the Salted Caramel Buttercream as I am, check back soon for my absolute favorite Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Cupcake recipe… it is sooo amazingly good!!
Cotton Anniversary: Cotton Candy Cupcakes
Two years ago today, I married my best friend and soulmate. We have so much fun together and I wouldn’t change a thing about our marriage. For those of you who are married, you are probably familiar with traditional anniversary gifts. The two year anniversary traditional gift is Cotton. Cotton was not the easiest thing to create a good guy gift, but I had a lot of fun coming up with it. So if you are looking for a good Cotton anniversary gift, I’m happy to share mine. His gift included: (1) a “LOVE” graphic with our wedding date and state we got married in (and live in) printed on cotton and framed (purchased on Etsy); (2) a really nice canvas and leather duffle bag; (3) his favorite cotton dry-fit Nike shirt; (4) some new running socks; and finally (5) cotton candy cupcakes to top off my ultimate Cotton gift! Obviously, I got a little carried away with the cotton theme… but I enjoy putting fun gift packages together.
If you aren’t celebrating a Cotton anniversary soon, well these are also a great October treat to enjoy the Fair season! At least here in Texas, we make a pretty big deal out of our State Fair and our fair foods, and cotton candy is pretty much a staple fair food.
Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes with Pumpkin Buttercream
Nothing says Fall like Pumpkin. I love the smell of pumpkin sweets in the air, I even bought an air freshener for the house so I can soak in the wonderful aroma of the season! There is something about the Fall that makes me want to curl up with a delicious pumpkin dessert and binge watch Gilmore Girls from start to finish. I don’t know why… maybe it’s that Lorelai and Rory loved this time of year as much as I do, or maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to watch that show for the hundredth time.
Anyhow, I think there is something about that Pumpkin flavor evokes the wonderful memories that come with this time of year. Time together with family, the leaves changing, the chill in the air… it’s the perfect time of year. For my first pumpkin recipe, I wanted to try something new. I’ve seen a few chocolate pumpkin recipes out there and it almost sounds too good to be true; I mean, chocolate AND pumpkin all in one little cupcake… the idea gives me goose bumps! But, I’m happy to report, it is possible and it is SO delicious!
Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes with Dark Chocolate Buttercream
Who doesn’t love Oreos, right?! They are always my go-to indulgence as far as cookies go. A stack of Oreos and a cold glass of milk can make my whole day better! One of my favorite memories from college would be studying for exams with my best friend and eating a box of oreos while we crammed… clearly I’m a nerd since I look back fondly on studying, but it is so true. It was in those late nights that I felt like I learned so much, probably in part to the crazy sugar rush from all of those Oreos!
These cupcakes are light and delicious and, best of all, they have a whole Oreo in the bottom! Need I say more? It’s not an overly sweet cheesecake flavor, which goes really well with the Oreos both crushed and at the bottom (which also makes for a great surprise when you bite into them)! I paired the cupcake with a dark chocolate frosting, I love the combination of the rich dark chocolate and the light fluffy cheesecake.
Dark Chocolate Nutella Cupcakes with Swiss Meringue Frosting
It’s Fall y’all! That time of year for sweaters, boots and scarves (oh my)! Of course, in Texas it takes much longer to actually feel like Fall… but that doesn’t stop me from pulling out the Fall decor and, of course, starting to bake with all my favorite Fall flavors! So to kick off the Fall season, I introduce these fabulous Dark Chocolate Nutella Cupcakes with a Swiss Meringue Nutella Swirl Frosting (it’s a mouthful, I know). 🙂
I know I talk a lot about my love for various types of sweets, and Nutella is definitely no exception. On our first trip to Europe, my husband and I tried Nutella crepes in Paris, Nutella Gelato in Florence and again in Rome… I just couldn’t get enough! There is something irresistible about that creamy hazelnut-chocolate flavor, it’s just perfect for any dessert. Here’s one of my favorite ways to enjoy Nutella, in a cupcake! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
